Good Bye to My Old Blog, My Memories..

I started blogging many years ago. Can't really remember when is the exact date that I started.

Some of you has been following my blog since the day I started blogging and most probably you still remember what happened to my blog before. I accidentally deleted my blog. Haha.. Super careless... It happened on March of  2009, which is the same day I started this blog (alexandercts.blogspot.com) with the first post titled "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Haha..

However, I felt relieved once I found out that I have all my posts backed up in another blog (alexandercts.multiply.com/journal). BUT.................... a few days ago............. I found out that multiply.com has been shutdown (source) on May 2013. -.-" I didn't even get to backup anything from that blog! I've lost everything in there, all the pictures, all the posts, everything... Kinda disappointed. Tried to email them but they said that "Multiply no longer provides support as their Team is not operational anymore". =/

Sad news

Sigh.. Anyway.. Feeling disappointed won't make any difference. I shall move on and make new memories. =) Joining me?

Back to blogging?

Blogging... Haha.. Didn't touch my blog for almost 3 years... Can you imagine that? 3 YEARS! and I'm BACK!! Well.. maybe just for a short while. I'm too lazy to blog nowadays. Anyway, hi all!

I've been going through my blog just now and felt that many things have changed after 3 years, especially everyone around me. It's like everyone is moving to a different stage of life. Some just got married, some just graduated, some just got a new job, and some just got a new baby. People that I usually hang out with and people that were close to me are no longer the same anymore. Each one of them has moved on with their life, building their future. It's getting harder and harder to keep in touch with everyone of them now. It's sad, but this is life. People come and go, leaving memories that can never be erased. To be honest, I've never had any regrets of meeting anyone in my life. Each one of them played a different role in my life and has truly made my life more colourful. They are the ones that shaped me into the person I am now. In fact, I would like to thank all of you for being part of my life. =)

Besides, I've changed too. I'm no longer the same person I was 3 years ago. I even found it funny when I read through my old posts. Haha. I feel so old now.. I'm no longer a student, but a working adult now. No longer living my life from day to day without bothering about the tomorrow, and it's all different now. Questions that I've never asked before keep popping up in my mind. Questions like: "What's my passion really is?", "What am I going to do with the rest of my life?", "Is engineering really my thing?", "Am I going to work 8-5 every day?" and many more. Basically, I feel lost. I need direction.. These questions been bothering me for months. Hm.. Anyway, that's all about me for the moment. If you've any free time, do let me know, so we can catch up with each other.

Well, I think that's all for now. I've nothing else to write anymore. Haha.. Au revoir! And hopefully à bientôt. =)

I'm laaaeeeyyyzzziiieee.

My semester just ended about 1 or 2 weeks ago (forgotten -_-'). Now, I have around 3 months of break (yaay!!). People around me keep calling me to get a job, but I just don't feel like doing anything.

I don't feel like going out. I don't feel like working. All I want is to relaaaaaax... and do anything I want or like. Because the previous semester was really busy. I didnt have much time to relax. So now, I just feel like flying and land whenever I like.

Now, I'm actually in Port Dickson. Just enjoyed a great time swimming with my family and cousins. Lying on the bed now, relaxing and blogging using my phone. =)

I hope this holiday will last FOREVER! hehe.. ok, maybe not forever. I'll be like a useless person if this last forever. =P Anyway, I think I have to look for something to do now. Been lying on the bed for quite some time. Hehe. Bye!

When's the last time you smiled?

Do you know that I LOOOOVE to see the smile on people face, especially the one from the heart? It looks so pretty on everyone's face.

Smile is a most beautiful gift that God has given to us. The joy of a smile can brighten a sour face, heal the sick, and even change the whole situation.

Be thankful for what you have now but not focusing on what you don't have. Be happy for everything. There is always something beautiful around you that you didn't realise. So smile!

I came across a video that I would like to share with everyone that is reading this right now. Turn on your speaker, stop the music player on the side bar and enjoy watching. Past it around if you like it.

Finished watching this video? Get the idea? Start smiling then! Make people around you smile too! Say something good to them. There's always something good about anyone. So tell them!

Remember, all of you looks great with the smile on your face. =) Trust me.

Songs Carry Memories

I realised many songs actually carry memories. While listening to them, they will remind me of the past.

Some of them reminds me of some people.

Some of them reminds me of the game I played.

Some of them reminds me of my dance performances.

But each one of them, reminds me of the wonderful moment and the fun time I had.

Every time I listen to them, they give me a sad feeling, because all these memorable moments are the past. How nice if I can go back to the past and experience these moments once again.

Anyway, below are some of the songs that remind me of the past memories: (Stop the player on the sidebar before playing this)

Thursday, Thursday, Thursday..

Thursday is my busiest day in every week. Class starts at 9am and ends at 7pm. And there is only an hour break at 2pm.

To make matters worse, I’ll have to park my car very far away from my university, because UTAR doesn’t provide enough parking area for us (students). The parking slots around my university is always full and we can’t park in the housing area or yellow line, unless we’re willing to get our car scratched, tyres punctured or summoned by the city council, yet we’re still doing it because we have no choice! Students been sending letters to UTAR but no action is taken.

Last two days (Thursday), after spending 10hours in my university, I felt so tired and sleepy but I still have to take a long walk to my car. Plus, it was raining at the same time. Sky was already getting dark, the sun was setting and suddenly, I saw something amazing that put a smile on my face.

A beautiful rainbow in the sky. It is so nice and I quickly stopped and took out my phone to take a picture of it. Rainbow (hope/success) comes after rain/storm (problem/struggle).

I reached home at almost 9pm with a starving stomach due to the terrible jam but I still have the peace and joy in my heart because I know that God will never leave or forsake me, thanks to the colourful stripes in the sky.

Special people

What do you think about the picture above? Funny? Stupid? Retarded? Brainless? Ugly? Disgusting? Crazy? Dumb?

I found a touching article in christianitytoday.com, written by Kelly Adkins, titled "Kevin's Different World" and I feel that it's worth sharing.

This is what she wrote:
<<< My brother Kevin thinks God lives under his bed. At least that's what I heard him say one night. He was praying out loud in his dark bedroom, and I stopped outside his closed door to listen.

"Are you there, God?" he said. "Where are you? Oh, I see. Under the bed."

I giggled softly and tiptoed off to my own room. Kevin's unique perspectives are often a source of amusement. But that night something else lingered long after the humor. I realized for the first time the very different world Kevin lives in.

He was born 30 years ago, mentally disabled as a result of difficulties during labor. Apart from his size (he's 6-foot-2), there are few ways in which he is an adult. He reasons and communicates with the capabilities of a 7-year-old, and he always will.

He will probably always believe that God lives under his bed, that Santa Claus is the one who fills the space under our tree every Christmas, and that airplanes stay up in the sky because angels carry them.

I remember wondering if Kevin realizes he is different. Is he ever dissatisfied with his monotonous life? Up before dawn each day, off to work at a workshop for the disabled, home to walk our cocker spaniel, returning to eat his favorite macaroni-and-cheese for dinner, and later to bed. The only variation in the entire scheme are laundry days, when he hovers excitedly over the washing machine like a mother with her newborn child.

He does not seem dissatisfied. He lopes out to the bus every morning at 7:05, eager for a day of simple work. He wrings his hands excitedly while the water boils on the stove before dinner, and he stays up late twice a week to gather our dirty laundry for his next day's laundry chores.

And Saturdays—oh, the bliss of Saturdays! That's the day my dad takes Kevin to the airport to have a soft drink, watch the planes land, and speculate loudly on the destination of each passenger inside.

"That one's goin' to Chi-car-go!" Kevin shouts as he claps his hands. His anticipation is so great he can hardly sleep on Friday nights.

I don't think Kevin knows anything exists outside his world of daily rituals and weekend field trips. He doesn't know what it means to be discontent. His life is simple. He will never know the entanglements of wealth or power, and he does not care what brand of clothing he wears or what kind of food he eats. He recognizes no differences in people, treating each person as an equal and a friend. His needs have always been met, and he never worries that one day they may not be.

His hands are diligent. Kevin is never so happy as when he is working. When he unloads the dishwasher or vacuums the carpet, his heart is completely in it. He does not shrink from a job when it is begun, and he does not leave a job until it is finished. But when his tasks are done, Kevin knows how to relax. He is not obsessed with his work or the work of others.

His heart is pure. He still believes everyone tells the truth, promises must be kept, and when you are wrong, you apologize instead of argue. Free from pride and unconcerned with appearances, Kevin is not afraid to cry when he is hurt, angry or sorry. He is always transparent, always sincere.

And he trusts God. Not confined by intellectual reasoning, when he comes to Christ, he comes as a child.

Kevin seems to know God—to really be friends with him—in a way that is difficult for an "educated" person to grasp. God seems like his closest companion.

In my moments of doubt and frustrations with my Christianity, I envy the security Kevin has in his simple faith. It is then that I am most willing to admit that he has some divine knowledge that rises above my mortal questions. It is then I realize that perhaps he is not the one with the handicap—I am.

My obligations, my fear, my pride, my circumstances—they all become disabilities when I do not submit them to Christ. Who knows if Kevin comprehends things I can never learn? After all, he has spent his whole life in that kind of innocence, praying after dark and soaking up the goodness and love of the Lord.

And one day, when the mysteries of heaven are opened, and we are all amazed at how close God really is to our hearts, I'll realize that God heard the simple prayers of a boy who believed that God lived under his bed.

Kevin won't be surprised at all.
>>>

They might be mentally disabled. Their reaction might be slow. Their looks might be different. They might learn slower than we do. But what I admired most is the simple mind and the pure heart they have. We should learn from them instead.

City life

Life in city is really hectic. People are rushing here and there, busying completing their tasks. The adults have to work very hard to earn some money and feed their family. Leaving the house early in the morning and came back late at night. The students have to study and do their assignments in order to meet the desirable result. Sacrificing their sleep to study for exams and finish up their assignments. Everyday, we are worrying about this and that.

It is like a cycle that we all have to do everyday and it is like a compulsory for everyone living in the city to survive. No education, no job. No job, no money. No money, no food. No food, you'll die! (Unless you want to be a beggar.)

We are living in a city where more and more competitions that we have to overcome as our population grow rapidly, like fighting for the job you want or fighting for the college you wish to enter. This is what we have to do to survive.

Sometimes I'll think why must we stuck with this 'procedure'? To improve our lifestyle? Yes, this might be a reasonable answer, but don't you think that we are spending too much time with our works and studies? Some of us can't even spend a few minutes with our family or friends. Sacrificing your loved ones to your job or education?

Why can't we live like those people in the countryside? I seldom see them rushing, worrying, and stressing about their lifestyle like what we always do in city. They always have time to sit around, chatting with their neighbours and family. Some of us, it is hardly to have some time for us to speak more than 10 words with our neighbours and family a day.

I know what I said is useless and not going to make any difference. Sometimes I just admire those people in the countryside, but I still love the city, because of the entertainments and friends around. So I'll have to bear with this 'procedure'. Since I can't do anything, I guess I will just move on with it.

Anyway, I will not give up. I will still work hard and study hard for my future. On the same time, I will not forget the loved ones around me, including you. I will try my best to find some time for all of you. I am sorry if I cannot spend some time with you sometimes, but don't forget, all of you are always in my heart.

The slope is getting steeper..

*Image created with the help of the Paint software.*

"The slope is getting steeper and steeper. The elephant you are pulling is getting bigger and bigger," said Dr Low. It is true that our burdens, responsibilities and duties will increase when we get older and older.

Currently, I'm struggling in my university. There are so many works needed to be done, such as lab reports, assignments, tutorials and so on, yet so little time. Every time I try to plan something, there is always something that obstructs me. Whenever I want to study a thing, an assignment comes in. When I try to complete a work, another report comes in. Can't they just slow down? Waking up early in the morning, sleeping late at night, just to get my works done. Isn't it unhealthy? Sometimes I just thought to myself, which is more important? My health or studies?

Now, I'm lagging quite far behind, trying hard to catch up with the classes. The things that are taught by my lecturers is getting deeper and deeper. Since I'm having problem catching up with the classes, it's kind of hard for me to understand what they are teaching right now. All I need now is time, time and more time. Pray hard that I will get through this.

Look around you

Stop what you're doing now.

Open your eyes.

Look around you.

There is always someone sitting there alone.

The person might be your family, friend or just an unknown person.

He/she might need someone to talk to.

Stop wasting your time on the same thing everyday.

Stand up.

Walk towards him/her.

Talk to them.

He/she needs your company.

Waste no more time before it's too late.

Appreciate people around you.

And don't forget to smile. =)

*Don't ask me why I post this up. This thing just came to my mind in a sudden. Anyway, it's something that we need to stop and consider.

Have a nice day!
